Karl Lagerfeld and Tokidoki Team Up For Adorable Cartoon and Clothes

There are a whole lot of things to love about Karl Lagerfeld (and possibly a few things to loathe, if you are not partial to his filterless public character ): his always-impressive inventive leadership at Chanel and Fendi, his devotion to dressing like a brassy, monochromatic sheriff in an old Western, his obsession with his kitty, Choupette.

My favourite thing about Karl, though, is that he’s in on the joke – Lagerfeld may seem self-serious to the casual observer, however over time, his behavior has signaled that he understands he’s a little ridiculous.

Tokidoki, the brand loved the world over (and especially in Asia) because of its quirky cartoon prints, has teamed up with Lagerfeld for a restricted group of clothes, accessories and figurines, most of which are exclusive to Net-a-Porter, starring Karl (and Choupette) as a member of a cartoon superhero.

Lagerfeld’s probably the closest thing to a comic book character that fashion has, along with his appearance is so specific and consistent that it translates well to some simple drawing, so the print and the figurines are cute. The more I look at them, the more I need the little statuette of Karl and Choupette for my desk. The collection also includes T-shirts and tanks, iPhone instances and a particularly daring pair of jeans. Check out the entire selection below and shop it through Net-a-Porter!
